Jerry DaskoskiJerry Daskoski, a long-time resident of Kansas, has served in a number of capacities over his career which has spanned four decades. However, he has been relentless in his pursuit to make the world a better place for others at all junctures in his professional life. Most recently, Jerry Daskoski has been working as an Employment Specialist for Minds Matter, and as a Crisis Recovery Specialist with the Crisis Recovery Residential Psychiatric Center at Johnson County Mental Health.

As a Crisis Recovery Specialist, Jerry works to secure and provide a safe and comfortable setting for the patients, who suffer from persistent and severe mental health issues. His ultimate goal in this capacity is to help the residents regain a sense of control, on an individual level, and to seamlessly re-integrate themselves into their local community.

Minds Matter LLC, a sister company of Community Works, is contracted by three Managed Care Organizations to provide the following therapies to individuals with a TBI: Cognitive Therapy, Behavior Therapy, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy. Jerry Daskoski now serves as a Cognitive Therapist for individuals with Traumatic Brain Injuries, with a focus on the end goal of the individuals that he works with, obtaining and retaining Employment. Previously, Jerry held the position of Employment Specialist for Community Works, but the state of Kansas Vocational Rehabilitation Department made it almost impossible to help people with Traumatic Brain Injuries, learn how to help themselves and learn how to retain their job beyond a ninety day period.

Jerry Daskoski has created a Cognitive Therapy that blends the best of the Cognitive Therapy (CT) Model with the best of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and created a form of Cognitive Therapy that has proven very successful in helping individuals who have a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and/or a Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI). He is able to not only help people in overcoming the obstacles in their life, but he provides them with a Mental Toolkit of practical skills that they can pull out and use on their own on an independent and a long-term basis.

Jerry Daskoski holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education from Wichita State University, Masters of Science in Education Administration from the University of Missouri in Kansas City.

Outside of his career, Jerry is happily married to his wife of 41 years. Together they have extensively toured the United States. They count a trip where they visited the northeast states such as New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont and more amongst their favorite. Additionally, he is an avid reader of fantasy-fiction novels. Jerry and his wife live in Shawnee, KS just outside of Kansas City, and have a residence in Haven, KS.
